I was going to do more work on this one, but it has grown on me just the way it is. That's often one of the hardest decisions to make when painting: when to stop.

I am not sure that this is finished; the fabric could use more work. It's still clamped to my easel (you can see the clamps in the right corners), asking me to finish it off. Maybe when this nasty cold goes away!
This time I did a warm red underpainting. I don't always begin the daily paintings this way, but I wanted to let some of the red show through in the finished painting to warm things up. This is what lies beneath:
